Anya Garnis has truly taken her craft and expertise as a formidable ballroom dancer and exploded on TV, captivating audiences not only in the USA but across the world.
Whether she is dancing with the stars, a professional or even a street hip-hop dancer her charismatic presence never diminishes in her performance. Anya made her name on TV on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE USA and she quickly established herself a favourite with the audience and remains so as an All-Star.
Anya began her training in Russia and after coming to New York she quickly rose to become US NAtional Finalist, proving that her performance matched her skill. After appearing on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE USA she embarked on the national tour performing in over 50 cities across America. Anya was in great demand and was asked to perform on the 80th Annual Academy Awards. She was a special guest on the world televised Emmy winning IDOL GIVES BACK. Soon after Anya was invited back to become one of the first All-Stars on SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE USA.
After performing on the HBO series TRUE BLOOD, wooing audiences with her smooth Rumba, she was asked to perform at the Emmy Awards.
ABC's DANCING WITH THE STARS asked Anya to guest star on their hit show and with her constant presence on TV she headlined on Broadway in the worldwide success BURN THE FLOOR and immediately went on the world tour in over 20 countries.
In 2012 Anya performed as a featured guest star with TV's Dmitry Chaplin on DANCING WITH THE STARS LIVE in Las Vegas and at the beginning of 2013 she appeared on the FOX TV hit BONES in a guest performance.
Anya is currently preparing to return to SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE as an All-Star.
Such is her charisma, vitality, personality and pure excitement she portrays in her perfomance. It is no wonder she has been called 'An Ambassador of Ballroom'.
Domenico is a former Slovakian Latin Champion and has competed in both the European and World Latin and Ballroom Championships.
Originally hailing from Italy, he has many strings to his bow and in addition to his ballroom prowess, Domenico is also a many-time Italian National Champion in the disciplines of Rock and Roll, Jazz, Acrobatic Rock and the Boogie-Woogie.
In 2015 Domenico joined the cast of Legally Blonde the Musical and for the last few years has been performing in Burn the Floor, which has taken him around the world in their 2017 global tour.
Lisa was born in Hull, East Yorkshire and for many years studied Ballroom and Latin American dance. In 1994 she won the IDTA Medallist of the year Ballroom and Latin championship and the Latin championship again in 1995.
At 16 she attended the Northern School of Contemporary Dance, graduating in 2002 with a first class BA hons degree and the Armees prize for achieving the overall highest degree mark. From 2002–2007 Lisa danced extensively with Contemporary company Phoenix Dance Theatre, working with choreographers including Javier de Frutos, Darshan Singh Bhuller, Robert Cohan, Rui Horta, Jeremy Nelson and Didy Veldman. In 2007 Lisa performed Jane Dudley's famous solo Harmonica Breakdown in Paris and later that year joined Henri Oguike Dance Company touring for one season.
In 2009 Lisa joined Bonachela Dance Company directed by Rafael Bonachela, where she danced for a year before working with Fin Walker at The Royal Opera House in Aida and later restaging the choreography as revival choreographer at Palau de les Arts in Valencia.
Lisa joined James Cousins Company in May 2012 for the creation of There We Have Been. She then collaborated with James again as dancer and assisted him as dance captain on Everything and Nothing before becoming his rehearsal director for Without Stars.
Lisa now works as a freelance artist. Her projects have included: The Opening Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic games choreographed by Akram Khan; The Pet Shop Boys musical (The Most Incredible Thing) choreographed by Javier de Frutos; dancer in Joe Wright’s movie ‘Anna Karenina’ choreographed by Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui; works by Darshan Singh Bhuller (Caravaggio); ICON Dance Company (Imprint and The British Museum project); Cameron McMillan (If Nobody Speaks, And Then They Were Gone) and Renaud Wiser (Skin Walkers) to name a few.
Lisa also worked as assistant contemporary choreographer for the BBC’s So You Think You Can Dance.
Lisa's commercial contracts include: The Pet Shop Boys Electric Tour; Orange ‘Swappables’ advert; a live Salsa performance on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing (2009); performing Latin shows with Strictly’s James Jordan; several TV adverts; Strictly Come Dancercise DVD (2007); Camilla Dallerup's Cardiodance workout DVD (2009); Salsa performances with Richard Marcel and an aerial production for
Lisa finished touring the UK with Strictly’s Robin Windsor and Anya Garnis in Latin show ‘Keep Dancing’ and most recently ‘One More Dance’ show in London’s West End with Strictly’s Kristina Rhianoff and Gleb Savchenko.
Lisa is very excited to be a part of Pasha and Anya's tour for a second time.
Nina started dancing when she was four years old. During her 14 year competitive career she was crowned Slovenian Ballroom and Latin Champion an impressive three times.
On retiring from competition, Nina joined the cast of professional dancers in Slovenia's version of Dancing With the Stars. For the last few years she's performed around the globe in the world-renowned stage show Burn the Floor and most recently in the smash hit musical Priscilla Queen of the Desert.
With incredible ballroom dancers for parents, it was only natural that Lorenzo Valerio La Pietra followed in their footsteps when he started dancing when he was just eight years old.
After years of studying both Ballroom and Latin, Valerio found his passion lied in Latin, and in focusing on these fiery, energetic dances he earned great success over his competitive career, winning a number of major Dancesport medals across North America and Europe.
On retiring from competition, Valerio performed across America, Asia, South Africa and Europe as well as in London's West-End as part of the prestigious touring dance company Burn the Floor, and then as a lead in the cruising stage show Legally Blonde.
Valerio is excited to be sharing the stage with fellow Strictly Stars Pasha and Anya, having completed his first season as a professional dancer on Italy’s version of Dancing with the Stars last year.
Britt was born and raised in the Netherlands and has had a passion for music, acting and dance since she was a little girl. After high school she studied at the Frank Sander's Academy for Musical Theatre in Amsterdam, and has since had starring roles in all-singing, all-dancing productions of Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Hairspray, Legally Blonde and Footloose. Dutch audiences may also recognise her from her TV appearances on shows such as Beat the Best, and in 2014 as a contestant on the singing talent show The Voice of Holland.
From 2015 to 2016 Britt worked with the West End Director Tony Edge, playing the Killer Queen in the hit musical We Will Rock You, which inspired her to move to London to pursue her West End dream.
As well as working in Musical Theatre, Britt has also written and performed her own one woman show and can add Singer/Songwriter and Voice-over artist to her list of accomplishments.
Most recently, having moved to England and discovered the British tradition of Pantomime, she's played the Evil Queen in Beauty and the Beast and Snow White and is now very excited to be taking to the stage as herself, as part of the UK Tour of The Magic of Hollywood!
